The increasingly popular movie and tv series rental company Netflix has exploded with popularity from their founding in 1997. The company offers physical dvds mailed to their customers as well as a large collection of films and series’ for streaming on their website for their subscribers. A few years ago, the company began producing their own shows and now has a large collection. Of these, there are five of their most recent tv series’ that are a must see!
1. Peaky Blinders: This British Historic based crime drama centers around the infamous gang in Birmingham, England after World War 1 circa 1920, and Chief Inspector Chester Campbell – an investigator in the Royal Irish Constabulary – in his endeavors to deal with the gang and their rapidly expanding empire. An exciting “moody rock” soundtrack, as well as an equally exciting cast sets this show apart from others of its kind.
2. Narcos: When “Breaking Bad” and “Weeds” are behind you, and have you hungry for more drug culture drama, this new series detailing the life and crimes of Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Cartel in Colombia will satiate your appetite. Moving back and forth between the Cartel’s actions and the United States DEA Agents sent to deal with them, every episode will keep you on the edge of your seat.
3: Sense8: From the creators of “The Matrix” and “Babylon 5” comes an epic story of eight strangers who after a tragedy discover that they are all psychically connected. From all across the globe, these eight see glimpses of the others’ surroundings and endeavor to strengthen their connections to discover a plot to hunt them all down and destroy them.
4. Hemlock Grove: Based on the book by the same name by Brian McGreevy, the small former Steel town of Hemlock grove is struck with tragedy when a 17-year-old girl is brutally murdered. A young vagabond rumored to be a werewolf and the son of the town’s wealthiest family are thrown into the mix, attempting to solve the murder themselves. But around every corner, the dark secrets they both carry, as well as those of the town come into the light.
5. Bloodline: Said by fans to be the best Netflix original out there, Bloodline is a drama set in Florida all about the Rayburn Family who own a small resort by the water. When their deadbeat brother comes back to town, this family’s allegedly shady past may just come to the surface… and grow even worse. With a tagline like “We're not bad people, but we did a bad thing,” it speaks for itself for what awaits around every turn
