Looking back at everything, I realize that you always had my back. You saw all the good in me when everyone else saw all the bad. No amount of words can explain how grateful I was to have you.

1. You were the first to accept me.

You were the first person that I came out to and you didn't tell anyone. You made me feel comfortable and it felt so exhilarating to finally be able to be myself in front of someone.

2. You stuck up for me.

I never had to ask for help. When there was someone calling me a "fag" in the hallway, you were always there to put an end to it.

3. You listened.

You understood how difficult it was for me to keep this secret inside me. You knew that no one else knew. More importantly, you knew that I just needed to vent sometimes.

4. You understood how I felt.

There were days when I couldn't keep myself together and you were always there to give me a hug and tell me that everything would be okay. You were able to tell when I was okay and when I was on the verge of a breakdown.

5. There was never a dull day.

There was never a day that was ever the same. You kept things interesting and made the days fly by.

No amount of words can thank you enough for being there for me. You helped me make it through high school. Even though we may not talk as much as we used to, I still want you to know that I appreciated everything and I would not change our time together for the world.
