On May 23, 2016, Disney released a teaser trailer for the live action version of the Disney princess movie "Beauty and the Beast." It was a lovely surprise to wake up to because I have been waiting for this trailer since I first heard last summer that this movie will be happening. Belle has always been my favorite princess because she loves books, and she did not pick Gaston because all the girls were after him. Also, she fell in love with an ugly beast who actually ended up being very handsome, and kind to her. Anyway, I loved the first trailer, and found similarities from the animated version.
One similarity I found was that the music from the trailer matched up with the 1991 film which is a great thing because we cannot have the movie premiere without the classic music. And the movie will be a musical, so it seems that it will stay true to the original version.
Another similarity I found was that in the animated version, the Beast claws at a portrait of his old self and the new Beast does the same.
The castles look a little bit different though, which upsets me because out of all the Disney princess castles, the Beast's has always been my favorite. I think it is because the layout is different, and I liked what the castle looked like on the outside. In the trailer, it appeared to be winter outside when Belle arrives at the Beast's isolated home; it was stormy when she arrived in the animated movie. Well, I guess there are bound to be some changes and I can understand that. I just hope said changes are not drastic.
I think Emma Watson is the perfect actress to play Belle. I wish it was me because, as I said above, she is my favorite princess, but we can't always get what we want. Watson seems very kind which makes for the perfect fitting because we all know that Belle is a very kind character.
The live action version of "Cinderella" came out in March of 2015 and onscreen we saw all the magic unfold. We saw the mice change into horses and we saw everything else that was in the animated "Cinderella." However, what is Beauty and the Beast going to look like? I think that is everyone's question. What is the Beast going to look like? I mean, he is supposed to be a furry beast with wolf-like teeth. Also, Mrs. Potts and Chip. They are a tea pot and a tea cup. And don't forget about Lumiere and Cogsworth; a candle and clock. There will probably be a lot of computer generated imagery because, after all, it was an animated film first.
Whichever way this live action film may go, I think it will still be a magical film to watch because it is "Beauty and the Beast."
