Last night, I fell in love with We The Kings all over again. When I found out that Northern had somehow managed to book them, I screamed almost instantly and had a hard time believing that I was actually going to be able to see WTK live and in concert. I've been in love with the band since about 2008, and many of their songs hold so many memories. Northern also had a group from Cincinnati called Public come up, and they did not disappoint (I'm pretty sure I'm in love with all of them now— especially the bass player).
The energy from both bands and the electricity from the crowd was amazing, and I can't even begin to describe how amazing I felt after the concert. There are three things, however, that I would have changed had I been given the chance:
1. The extremely loud drunk girl yelling about veggie platters aggressively trying to elbow her way to the front and ferociously attacking me with her boobs as she jumped to the music.
2. The group of guys that insisted on having some of them crowd surf that almost crushed my girlfriend and a really sweet girl in a wheelchair when dropping one of their friends.
3. The crazy Asian dude that was aggressively headbanging to one of WTK's songs and repetitively kept slamming his head into my spine.
Even with everything crazy happening around me, I still had one of the best nights of my life. I was sandwiched between some friends and some strangers against a fence, looking at football players play bouncer and try not to move too much to the music. I watched a girl jump over the fence to meet Travis Clark (lead singer) and lead everyone in a very loud rendition of Journey's song "Don't Stop Believing" and at the end of the night managed to get a picture with Public. There aren't enough words in the English dictionary to describe how completely and utterly amazing I feel to have this experience.
