As the school year comes closer to the end, I'm sure there are dozens of things swirling around in your mind. You're worried about things like improving your GPA, not seeing your friends during break and what you're going to do all summer. Please believe me when I say you are not alone. While these things may seem important to worry about now, they are merely trivial in the grand scheme of things.

You have your entire life ahead of you to worry about things. Right now, you should be focused on taking fun classes, enjoying the small things around you and knowing that you can find happiness even on the darkest of days.

It is easy to lose sight of it all when you're swept up in the whirlwind of school and work. I urge you to take these small steps that have helped so many others to live happier lives and find happiness in the smallest of places.

1. Take time for yourself on a daily basis.

It doesn't matter how busy you get, it is necessary to make time for yourself. It is impossible to take care of other things if you don't take care of yourself first. Take this time to do something you enjoy and really let yourself experience that thing you love.

2. Surround yourself with people who love you.

One of the best ways to be a happier person is to hang out with people who love you and see the best in you. We are often so hard on ourselves, it is hard to see anything good. See the light of your soul reflected back at you in the people who love you and know you are worth everything and more.

3. Do one nice thing a day.

It is often said that "you get what you give." If you want happiness, you should be willing to give it to others. I have found no greater joy than watching others realize how special they are. Start with something small like complimenting a friend and work your way up.

4. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Learn to distinguish between what is important and what isn't. Ask yourself if five years from now will this really matter? It can be hard to let things go, but it is a necessary skill to learn. Let yourself off the hook sometimes. You deserve it.

5. Embrace a positive attitude.

Often times, you have to convince yourself that only the best will come even when you are in the worst of situations. It can be hard, but if you believe in only the good, it will make it easier when dealing with the bad. View the glass half full, or just be glad you have a glass at all.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
