Finals Week Explained By Cats

Finals can be a difficult and stressful time for any college student, and what better way to relieve that stress than by looking at, and relating to, videos of cats being adorable?

Your to-do list is so out of control you don't even know what to do with yourself.

Just looking at the list shocks you. You know you have a lot to do. but putting it in a list somehow makes it seem more stressful.

You can't even remember the last time you showered.

It's getting pretty bad. You should probably shower; the hot water can help clear your head to get back at studying.

To go along with that, you can't remember the last time you ate a decent meal that wasn't made in the microwave.

Especially when dining halls close at 8:00 p.m. and you're up studying till the early hours of the morning. You get hungry!

You haven't gotten more than a few hours of sleep each night in the last few days, making you doze off at the worst possible times.

Falling asleep during reviews and in class doesn't make for the best study session.

To help you cope with your sleep-deprived state, caffeine has become your new best friend, causing you to become overhyped and a tad crazy.

You rely on caffeine to keep you awake long enough to drink more caffeine.

You become overjoyed when a classmate offers to share their study guide or notes with you.

Anyone who offers to share notes or study guides with you is a saint.

You know you should be studying, but all you want to do is watch Netflix.

You tell yourself you'll just watch one episode, but it turns into an entire season. It's just a downward spiral.

You get back to studying and you realize you don't actually know anything, so you panic.

Going through your notes or flashcards, you realize you actually don't know anything and you start to panic (again).

Panic ensues the morning of your final, and you feel like the world is going to end.

You wake up extra early, scramble around your bed to find your phone to check the time, and jump out of bed to make sure you're not late.

That moment of relief when you hand in your last exam.

You turn in your last exam and walk out and you feel so relieved, you're done for the semester. And now you get to go home and relax over break.

Finals can be tough, but you'll survive. Just remember to take some Netflix breaks here and there! Best of luck!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
