Finals week is (by far) the most dreaded time of the semester. It's the cumulative week that strikes fear in your heart and chaos in your mind as you procrastinate, cram, cry, and go a little bit hysterical in the process. If you're feeling stressed, anxious, sleep-deprived, overly-caffeinated, and bloated from all of those late-night Papa John's binges or family-sized Doritos stress eats, don't feel alone...we're all in this together.
1. Honestly answering the question: "How are you?"
2. And all you can do to cope is eat....
3. And eat....and eat....
4. And you have 3 exams to take, 4 papers to write, and a whole 9 days of survival left until freedom.
5. But your professor assigns another project due in two days and you/your classmates are borderline hysterical.
6. Going in for office hours with your professor is just about as useful as trying to learn Mandarin from scratch.
7. So instead you just complain to your friends in a giant group of neurotic misery.
8. And you try to lock yourself up in your room...but the lack of social interaction leaves you more unproductive than ever.
9. So you tell your inner self to sit down, push through, and get the work done...
10. But every time you just end up watching Netflix in bed with more snacks.
11. And when you check your grades online, you don't even know what hit you.
12. But then you remember that the exam is tomorrow.
13. Walking in, you pretend like you aren't dying inside.
14. And during the test ,you keep questioning and second-guessing your answers...
15. And you look all around the room for posters/inspirational quotes/cues from the professor that everything will be okay.
16. And afterwards, everyone asks if it went well.
17. But you don't care, because you know you'll be waking up in your own bed at home soon enough.
One day, one exam, one finals week at a time.
