These past few weeks have been hard. It's almost sickening now to watch TV or get on social media. Our world is being hit hard by brutal violence, political nonsense, and numerous other tragedies that seem to spread across the country like wildfire. Even closer to home, my community is hurting from the loss of a few of our own.

At a time like this, all we need is some good news.

So, if you stumbled across this post and are in a dark place, hurting from love and loss, or simply sick to your stomach at the events of the past few weeks, then I hope this story gives you some relief.

This is the story of a man named Jesus.

Jesus was a human being just like us. Although he is the Son of God, he was born to two awesome people and raised like any other child. But God had great plans for him, even before he was born.

What were those great plans? Jesus was going to die for you. Jesus was going to die for me. Jesus was going to die for us.

How can the death of God's child be a great plan? Well, with God, it was a divine plan. Because God so loved us, he sent his only son, Jesus, to die for all the sins and ungodly things that we did. Then, miraculously, he rose from the grave, conquering death itself. And one day, he is coming back to save the world!

And that's exactly what the world needs.

We are searching for someone to help us in this desperate time when our perfect savior has been here all along. A savior who went above and beyond for those who mocked and ridiculed him to ensure that they were accounted for. A savior who took on all the sin of the whole world, because he knew we couldn't bear it on our own.

But the most beautiful attribute that our savior provides is love. He loves you unconditionally with a love that is indescribable. It's overwhelming. Being engulfed in this love is such a positive feeling, and the best part about it is it's already waiting for you. In fact, he has been waiting for us to turn away from the world and come running into his arms.

So here's some positivity that we all desperately need. God and his Son are near to the broken hearted. He provides peace and a love that we all need to experience, especially right now. And Jesus, the most perfect person to walk this earth paid the ultimate price and rose again to one day bring us home to Heaven.

With the world spiraling out of control like it is, our Savior is coming to bring us all home to a place free of the turmoil we are experiencing now. We will be with the one who created us, and the one who loved us so much that he died for us, even in our darkest days.

One day we will be with Jesus Christ in Heaven. Now isn't that the best news you've heard all day?

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.-Psalm 118:24

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
