The most amazing night, became her most embarrassing.

A romantic candlelit dinner, with the biggest steak Barbie could eat. She and Ken have been dating since their freshman year of college. They met in their Biology class and even though Barbie was not interested in Ken, he was very persistent about getting to know her. Ken learned that Barbie was a nursing major, he felt like they were a match made in heaven since he was going to school to be a physical therapist. As they ate dinner, he thought to himself that this was the moment he had been waiting on since he asked her, "Is there someone sitting there?" three years ago.

Now three years later, they were madly in love with each other. While watching Barbie eat, Ken thought about all the conversations they had about their future together. They continued to eat their 5-course meal, and he could just tell that Barbie had no idea what the night held.

After they finished dinner, Ken told Barbie how he would like to drive up to the mountains and just look at the stars. Barbie was already feeling slightly uneasy, but she agreed anyways; because looking at the stars is a way that they have always spent quality time together. The whole ride up the mountains Barbie was switching from hip to hip very uncomfortably, Ken thought she knew what he had up his sleeve. Barbie kept reassuring Ken that she was okay but deep down inside she knew that all the food they ate at dinner wasn't sitting with her well.

They pulled into the National Forest gates and drove up the mountain. Barbie thought that there must have been a special event happening. There were lights streamed on all the trees, it looked magical. As Ken parked in their usual spot, he got out, walked around and opened her car door. When she stepped out there was a trail of rose petals along the ground. She hesitated and told Ken she thought it was a bad idea. He gave her a tug and told her to follow him.

She continued to tell him that there was something she had to say, but he couldn't stop now while he had all the confidence in the world. As he led her up the walkway, Barbie started noticing all of her family and friends, she grew even more nervous. They finally stopped walking, they were surrounded by candles and roses; Barbies family crowded closer. Ken got down on one knee and asked Barbie, "Will you marry me?" Everyone began screaming, and so did Barbie but not for the same reason. As she let Ken slide the ring on her finger, she bent down and whispered, "I pooped on myself."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
