Feelings You Have During Election Season

Republican or Democrat, we're all a little annoyed.

Feelings You Have During Election Season

No matter what party you identify with, there are always times when you get annoyed with something during the presidential election, whether it's something a presidential candidate says or a remark some ignorant classmate makes about your party. The presidential election is upon us, and I think we are all equally annoyed, frustrated, and nervous. So here are some emotions we've all dealt with this presidential election.

When you realize all of the candidates are sub par at best.

Who the heck am I supposed to vote for if I would make a better president than every current candidate combined?

When you realize that you have to vote for your best terrible candidate to prevent the other party's terrible candidate from winning.

You're afraid of inducing chaos by voting for this candidate, but you fear worse things if the opposing party were to win.

Watching the debates and realizing the candidates are arguing like children.

Watching the debate, I felt like there needed to be someone saying: "No, No Trump, it's not your turn. You need to be quiet and let Cruz speak. Trump? Trump! Quiet or you are getting a time out."

When Trump says something stupid.

Even if you support Trump, you really cannot rationalize some of the heinous things he says. Just because he has money, that doesn't rationalize the things he says; most people thought his campaign was a joke and still think that. But really, Trump made a terrible remark about his own daughter, and the only person he hasn't insulted is himself.

When Ted Cruz ate that one thing off his lip.

I read an article that it was a booger... Ew. Needless to say, I didn't watch that debate for much longer.

When someone tries to argue with you about your opinions on social media.

Whoa, calm down, buddy. We are all entitled to our own opinions, and although it was posted on Facebook, I didn't ask for your irrelevant rebuttal.

When you accidentally show up to the wrong party. Literally.

Somehow you have managed to find yourself at a party of all republicans, and you're a democrat. May the odds be ever in your favor.

When someone says something so stupid you don't even know how to respond.

Let's be honest, during the voting season, I think we can all agree that the real idiots come out of hiding. It's almost as if they want to go around letting everyone know that they actually know nothing.

We've all actually thought about the possibility of leaving the country.

I hear that Denmark has no worries. Let's move there. Pretty much everything is free, and when was the last time you heard about Denmark being in a war?

When you start arguing with a close friend because you have very different views.

It's not that you're reconsidering the friendship, it's just that you're confused as to how you became friends in the first place. The trick is to not question who the person is but rather debate on your differences. So you work hard to not insult your friends.

When you realize the person you're crushing on voted for the worst possible candidate.

Opposites attract, right? But can you really deal with the fact that your crush may have just doomed you and the rest of the country?

When someone starts talking about the Electoral College.

Even if you know what the electoral college is, most of us don't really understand how it works.

You really only watch the debates for the drinking games.

Okay, maybe you do care about the issues, I do too. But watching these debates wouldn't be as fun without drinking games. Can you really handle half of these candidates without a little bit of alcohol in your system?

Election season is upon us, and there are so many emotions that come with it. Who knew that this part of adulthood could be so stressful? But there is a light at the end of the tunnel: it's almost over. And by that time we'll all just be complaining about whoever wins.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
