I graduated high school this week and it has been a week FULL of reflecting on the memories. So, here's to you girl!
Four years ago, I walked into my third-period class, Teen Living. There you stood, a brand-new teacher, right out of college. Little did I know, signing up to take your class would change my life, forever. So, here I am to say thank you for a few things.
Thank you for being an amazing advice giver. Your words helped me through some of the toughest times that life has ever thrown at me, I will forever be grateful for your comfort.
Thank you for always opening your door for me when I was down and confused about what to do. On the morning of my first break-up, I sat in your classroom all day, thank you. You turned your classroom into a lunchroom for four months when I thought I was alone. You always reassured me that EVERYTHING was going to be okay.
I may not have always listened to you right away, but I always knew you were right about most things. I can't tell you enough how thankful I am for you and I couldn't have imagined doing high school without you. You quickly turned into so much more than a teacher, you became a close friend and a part of my family. But, you did always keep your grade book and our friendship separate and for that, I thank you as well as applaud you.
You never once judged me for not being a normal high school student and for that I will always be grateful. On the days that I wondered, "should I just follow the crowd to fit in?" you assured me that I should always be a leader. Thank you for being the best secret keeper ever. Thank you for being the Ms. Norbury to my Cady. (well, kind of, except I don't have a burn book and you're not a drug dealer!)
I love you!
