Since I have written an article about Big Brother before, I am sure you are not surprised to read that it is one of my favorite summer shows! I have been tuning into this crazy, power-struggle of a game since the summer before I started high school, and I have even gone back to watch earlier seasons. In honor of the eighteenth season, here is a ranking of my favorite summers of Big Brother!
1. Season 13
While the duo twist wasn't my favorite, the returning players in this season were EVERYTHING! Dani Donato is my all-time favorite player. SHOCKER!
2. Season 14
This season featured the coaches twist, bringing back four of the best players ever: Britney, Janelle, Dan, and Mike Boogie. The winner, Ian, played an incredible game, and he also studied chemical engineering! Of course, Britney stole the show and in the process gave me a host of GIFs to feature in this article!
3. Season 12
This season was the first one I ever watched, and it was also when America was introduced to Rachel Reilly. Can you see why I am hooked?
4. Season 10
Yes, Libra, please clap for Dan Gheesling, the winner of Big Brother 10 and one of the best, if not THE best, to ever play the game. I also really liked the cast in this season. It was one of the most diverse that I have seen.
5. Season 11
Between Chima being kicked out of the game and being introduced to Jeff and Jordan, Season 11 had its fair share of drama and game play, all of which I enjoyed watching.
6. Season 6
Another one of the greatest to ever play the game, Janelle, played for the first time this season which featured the most divided house I have ever seen play. Literally every week, it would be one side fighting against the other for power.
7. Season 8
Going back and watching this season after watching Dani Donato return just made me like her even more. Also, who didn't LOVE watching Evel Dick go around banging those pots and pans?
8. Season 17
Last summer featured another good season, but compared to the ones mentioned above, it wasn't incredible. However, Vanessa's game play was just that, incredible.
I am choosing not to rank Seasons 15 and 16. Season 15 is the infamous Big Brother season of racism and bigotry, and Season 16 was nothing special to me. In fact, I gave up on it once I moved into WPI (it was freshman year, so a lot of things prevented me from watching).
Also, I am not ranking Season 18 yet, for it is still going. However, it has been a very entertaining season, and I cannot wait to see who wins! Here's to many more summers of twists and expecting the unexpected!
