I am slightly a big nerd for manga and anime. The people I know that like some type of anime/manga are definitely people I can relate to. I want to share the few mangas that I totally love.
1. 1/2 Prince
Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Gender-Bender, Romance, Sci-fi, Shoujo, Shounen
Summary: The manga is about a girl, Feng Lan. In the year 2100 A.D., and humans have developed a virtual reality game with a realism level of 99%. She has made a bet with her twin brother, vows to succeed in playing the game without using her "female benefits." Due to this, she becomes the first and only female to play as a male character in "Second Life."
My view: I really like the action in this manga and at the moment it is still an ongoing manga. It has thrill and joy. It is very interesting and if you enjoy fighting there is enough for you to enjoy. I liked the futuristic feel of the story. It really is one of the mangas that I really like. I haven't completely caught up with all of the chapters, but I really do recommend this manga for anyone that likes realism and video game aspect because it definitely has it.
2. Dengeki Daisy
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo
Summary: The manga is about this girl, Teru. When her older brother died, she was left with little more than a cell phone containing the text-address of an elusive character named DAISY, who Teru's brother had told her Daisy would watch over her. Daisy would always mention "I'm always watching over you." DAISY became Teru's pillar of strength, over the next few years as he sent her encouraging words through his phone, whether inspiring or mere chatter, as she faces her life alone. One afternoon, after bullies from the student council are mysteriously driven away, Teru accidentally breaks a school window, which results in her working for the grouchy, cruel school janitor named Tasuku Kurosaki. As Teru begins working for the unlikable school janitor, her feelings begin to surpass that of master and servant and she begins to question DAISY's true identity. Thus begins an unlikely friendship between a 16-year-old high school girl and a sly but smart 24-year-old man. As time goes by the two become close and Teru falls for Kurosaki. What she doesn't know is that he has feelings for her too, but can not return them for a number of reasons, the most important reason is somehow he was the one who caused her brothers death.
My view: This series of manga is also good in my eyes because at the beginning it is a true mystery on who Daisy is. When it is figured out she has more to deal with then just the issue on the person she truly cares about. This story just drew me in, probably because I am a hopeless romantic, but still. It is a very interesting read. It is now a completed series, which now I just need to finish because this is really good.
3. Fruits Basket
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, School Life, Shoujo, Supernatural
Summary: The enigmatic Sohma family shares a great secret, its members are possessed by spirits of the Chinese Zodiac, and when they are hugged by members of the opposite sex, they transform into their Zodiac animal! Tohru Honda, an orphaned high school freshman, is given lodging in the Sohma household in exchange for taking care of household chores. The humble Tohru is quite grateful for the Sohma family's generosity, and the longer she stays with them, the more they realize what a blessing she is in their lives, as well.
My view: This manga, I honestly first watch as an anime and realized that I really liked it. I decided to read the manga, which I haven't finished yet, but it is a complete work. Honestly there is more information you learn about the characters in the manga then the anime, which makes sense since the anime was so short. I pretty much will say this about all of the manga, but I really like this one to especially since the zodiac signs are so viewed in general. It is just quite interesting to see how they act as people and how it is in a family like that.
4. Hapi Mari
Genre: Comedy, Josei, Romance
Summary: Men - they are the root of Takanashi Chiwa's problems, which is why she never had the time nor the opportunity to have a boyfriend in her entire life. A full-time office lady and a part-time hostess, she works night and day to pay off her dad's debt from his failed business. One night at her part-time
My view: This manga shows this woman that is not good with men. She gets set up with this important business guy because of her grandmother's ties with the business man's grandfather. It is really funny and understanding. I see action in the situation they have and it is romantic how they stick together through the whole problem. This manga, I believe is complete because it hasn't been updated for a long time. I have read the whole thing and was in a way satisfied with the end. I just enjoy the roller coaster that they go on to stay together. I really do love this one also.
5. Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama!
Genre: Comedy, Romance, School, Shoujo
Summary: Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly an all-boys school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to them in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.
My view: This manga is so amazing the main character is so awesome. She is so strong and beautiful. She works at a cafe that she would rather not have other people know because it shows her weak side. She is so strong and powerful. I just love her as a character. This manga I believe is complete, even though I haven't finished, which I need to. It is honestly a very good read very much recommend.

Side Note: I think it is funny that all my favorite type of mangas have a female as the main focus in all of them. I really enjoy that type of story though since I am a girl, I can relate better. They are all strong female roles too. Also, all the manga I do read has some type of romance in it.
