In 2007, we mourned the ending of the colossal fan-based books of Harry Potter. You had read them since you were young and you grew up with Harry Potter.
We got the Stone. We entered the chamber. We produced a patronus to defeat the dementors. We put our name in the Goblet of Fire. We joined Dumbledore's Army and got the prophecy. We figured out the Half-Blood Prince. We sought and found the Deathly Hallows. We defeated Voldemort. We lived with Harry. Now, we get to experience another adventure in the Wizarding World; "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".
The film is set under a very strict policy not to leak any information from the set. From the information that was released, all we can perceive of the plot is: Newt Scamander comes to New York in the late 1920’s with his briefcase that is a magical device for mystical and magical creatures. Here, he pairs up with a few witches and wizards from the States as they take the journey with him to search for these magical creatures.
Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne plays the main protagonist, Newt Scamander. Newton Scamander was born in 1897 and attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry entertaining himself with his soon to be obsession with magical creatures. As an eccentric and opportunist “magizoologist” in 1927, he is more comfortable around the magical beasts and creatures than he is actual people. Scamander comes to New York with a suitcase in hand and his head full of curiosity for a new habitat composed of rare and endangered species.
Redmayne has appeared in his Oscar-winning performance "The Theory of Everything" (2014), Les Miserables (2012), and the upcoming "Danish Girl" (2015).
Katherine Waterston plays Porpentina “Tina” Goldstein. Tina meets Scamander while in New York City. Level headed and very grounded, she joins Newt in his adventures. She is part of the MACUSA, the United States version the Ministry of Magic. Tina is degraded her office position when she stood up for the wrong person. She fights for what is the truth. Waterston has played in the newly released "Steve Jobs" (2015), "Inherent Vice" (2014), and "Boardwalk Empire" (2013-2014).
Alison Sudol plays Queenie Goldstein. Queenie is known as the younger sister and her roommate to Porpentina. She has the power to read minds and is free spirit with not a care in the world. Alison Sudol has appeared in "What to Expect When You're Expecting" (2012), "New Year's Eve" (2011), and "Dan in Real Life" (2007).
Dan Fogler plays Jacob Kowalski. Jacob is an American Muggle that plans to document the magical creatures. He has a Brooklyn accent and is clean-shaven man. Dan Fogler has voiced in many animated movies like "Kungfu Panda" (2008) and "Horton Hears a Who!" (2008). He has also been in the comedic movie, "Balls of Fury" (2007).
Colin Farrell plays Graves who is a powerful Auror working next to the American wizarding world’s president (MACUSA). Newt Scamander met him while traveling to New York City. Colin Farrell has had a lot underneath his belt in the acting world. Some of his more prominent roles are: "Total Recall" (2012), the very admired TV series, "True Detective" (2015), and "Saving Mr. Banks" (2013).
Samantha Morton plays as Mary Lou, a leader of the Second Salemers. She seems very narrow-minded. She has starred in: "John Carter" (2012) and was the voice of Ruby in children's show "Max and Ruby" for a decade.
Ezra Miller plays as the troubling and mysterious character of Credence which is the adopted son of Mary Lou. Ezra Miller made his major debut on his character in "Perks of Being a Wallflower" (2012) and is now starring in some more advanced films like, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" (2016) and "The Flash" (2017).
Later this last week, the cover design was unveiled of a beautifully scripted handwriting. Here it is:
The movie is set to premiere November of 2016.
Hopefully, we will see a teaser trailer soon. All the Potterhead fans out there are waiting for their next adoption of the Wizarding World. We will wait together until we get our trailer.
