Autumn has officially arrived! That's right, folks, as of September 24 fall is FINALLY here. Fellow fall lovers rejoice! To help all of my winter/spring/summer lovers, I have compiled a list of essentials to help you get through this wonderful season. I present to you: The Fall Survival Guide.

1. Scarves, mittens, and the like.

I love scarves. They're probably my favorite clothing accessory, but they just get too hot in spring and summer. Fall is the time to layer up and get as cozy as possible.

2. A fashionable coat.

Not necessarily a winter coat, but not just a windbreaker either, fall coats are the most fashionable of all coats. When else can you look like a film noir detective?

3. Boots.

Fall is the only time I wear boots. I'm not usually a boot person, but in fall I wear boots and leggings all the time. I have a go-to black pair of boots that are my go-to in fall.

4. Fuzzy socks.

The superior sock in my opinion, the fuzzy sock is an absolute necessity during fall. They are literally heaven for your feet. They're soft, warm, and totally slide-able (for when you want to be a child again). And, they go really well with your comfy sweatshirts.

5. Many comfy sweatshirts.

With fall, I either look totally awesome or very comfy. There is no in-between. I have so many sweaters it's ridiculous and fall is the time I can finally break them out and not be ridiculously hot.

6. Lots and lots of books.

For me, I like to have lots and lots of books around all the time, but fall is the time you can curl up with your fuzzy socks and comfy sweatshirts and just read.

7. Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING.

I know this one is a bit cliche, but fall is the one time of year you can get away with drinking all of the pumpkin spice lattes without being judged for doing so. Also, it is the one time of year pumpkin pie actually sounds good.

8. Dark lipsticks.

Dark lipsticks are a year-long thing for some of us, but fall clothes make the lipsticks look that much greater. So bring on the burgundies, the plums, the wines, and of course, the blacks.

9. Black clothes.

Again, some believe black is an all-year color (cough cough me), fall is the time it begins to be socially acceptable to wear all black. This means not having to actually take the time to match your outfit and looking totally amazing without trying.

10. And finally, cats.

Cats are great all year round, but fall is a time when you can actually cuddle with them without dying from a heat stroke. Plus they're just so cute and cuddly!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
