Why Fall Is The Best Season

There is no better time of year.

Why Fall Is The Best Season

I love the fall. I think it is the absolute best season of the year. The brisk air and all the pretty leaves are only part of the reason fall is my favorite.

1. The cool air is better than the stifling heat.

I'm that person who loves being wrapped up in ten blankets and feeling completely comfortable in my burrito-like state. When it's hot out, you go to sleep with a sheet on and that's all you can handle. But in the fall, you can breathe dragon-like breath and take walks in the cool weather comfortably.

2. All the pretty colors.

When you look around, all you see is a myriad of yellows, reds, and oranges that are so nice to look at. Although people may argue that they enjoy the green trees and bright blue sky, there is something about changing leaves that is just special during this time of year. You can play in these if you're a kid at heart like me.

3. Halloween.

I always look forward to Halloween in October. Although I am a 20-year-old girl, I still get dressed up and like hanging out with my friends on this day. Halloween just takes you back to when you were little and would go out at night running from one house to another. It's a nostalgia thing.

4. Apple picking.

Fall is the prime time for going apple and pumpkin picking. Who doesn't enjoy walking through the orchard going through rows of apple trees and taste-testing different apples? It's a great activity to do with family and friends, and it's just overall a fun thing to do during this time.

5. Thanksgiving.

Who doesn't love Thanksgiving? It's a time of getting the whole gang together, spending time, and of course, eating. All the best things to do. There's just a feeling you get when you sit down with your family and friends and get to enjoy this time of year.

6. Moving the time back an hour.

As an exhausted college student, getting an extra hour of sleep is extremely important to me. Daylight savings is one of the best days of the year, in my opinion. You get that extra time to sleep instead of waking up and feeling like you're dead inside.

7. Sweater weather.

Ok, this might be one of the best parts of fall. You can dress like a bum and feel totally fine about yourself. You can wear sweaters and sweatpants everyday, and wear your fluffiest cardigans to class. You can wear all the boots you want, too. This season is just all about comfort, and it's fantastic.

Fall is the best season there is, there's no doubt about it. When you walk outside and take a deep breath of that cool fall air, you know the best time of the year has arrived. There's no denying fall has a special feeling that comes with it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
