"Practice makes perfect." There is no such thing as perfect, but with enough practice, you can get close to it. The biggest problem in today's society is that many people would rather not try something at all on the off chance they will fail. No one who has done something great in the history of the world got there on their first try.

Just look at Michael Jordan for example. He was rejected by his high school basketball team because he was not skilled enough. That failure did not stop him, instead, it empowered him to try harder, and become the greatest basketball player of all time. Michael Jordan is only one successful person who sees failure, not as a lack of skill, but as room for improvement. Another group of famous failures is The Beatles, who in fact were rejected by Decca Records because the company did not think their music would be a popular sound. Yet, Beatles went down in history as the most influential rock bands of all time. They did not stop after a company said they were not good enough. Despite this failure, they continued their sound and were able to create a cultural revolution.

Steve Jobs was the CEO of Apple. He created the Apple computer and had created the company using innovation. Regardless of creating the original product, he was eventually fired because his own Board of Directors believed he was hurting the company since IBM was surpassing Apple's profit. He had been living poor for years, until Apple re-hired him as CEO, and took the company into its golden age. During this time the iPod, iPhone, iPad, iTunes and MacBook were all created. These have become the top of the line pieces of modern technology on the market. Steve Jobs also went on to help create Pixar, which is the most famous 3D animation studios on the planet. Despite his failures, Steve Jobs prevailed.

The list of success stories continues, but the fact remains: failure is not the end. The secret to the kind of monumental success that you hear about in the news or history books is the result of a simple formula: hard work + patience = success. If you work hard and have the patience to surpass your failures, you will be successful in all of your endeavors.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
