My Experience With Tinder

Already deleted the app

My Experience With Tinder
naturewallbase.blogspot.com

With Valentines day slowly approaching and a Sadie Hawkins dance, I have been feeling the pressure of finding someone special. So, I decided to try this app called Tinder. Now Tinder is a dating app where you can swipe right (yes) or swipe left (no) on someone's picture. If they swiped right on your picture and you did the same to there's.... you are a match! This means that you can chat this person if you want. Now 48 hours after the initial swipe I have a conclusion about what I think about this app and why I deleted it.

What was the first line?

So, some of my matches decided to message me. Here are some of the first lines they used:

" hiiii"

"hey:)"

"I'm not gunna lie you're extremely cute"

"Nice pictures"

"Are you a beaver...cause damn"

"Hey..how are you doing?"

"I'm no photographer, but I could picture me and you together" ---> personal favorite haha

It was hilarious to see what they would say. As flattering as it was in the moment, I realized that they 100% send that same things to all the other girls they are talking too.

Conversation?

Basically none. They either were about stupid small talk or they would turn the conversation sexual, in which I would stop talking to them. Here are some examples of some of the guys trying to carry a conversation:

"haha how old is the oldest guy you've been with?"

"my parents just left haha"

"What's your cell?"

"I am seeing Michael Bay movie high as f***"

"I bet you I would be one of the most interesting people you would ever meet"

"Yeah I'm snacking and laying in my underwear like a basic bitch"

Pleasant right? I quickly realized that their intent was not to get to know me, but to try to see who will hook up with them.

Final Thoughts:

So, my final thoughts on Tinder...is that it is extremely stupid. I let my boredom get the best of me. Though I am struggling to find "the one" at my college, I know he is NOT on Tinder. God writes the best love stories and I need to remember that he is in control and has someone really great in store for me. So ladies, if you are actively on Tinder I would suggest closing the app and just relaxing. He is out there ladies, but I wouldn't try finding him on this app.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
