You know those days, weeks, months that seem to drag you through hell and back without any suggestion of ever ceasing? The times where you're so upset at your situation in life that you look up quotes on Pinterest to motivate yourself to push through it all? Well, I'm here to tell you this: everything will not be okay tomorrow.
Ouch. I hit a nerve there, huh? Thought so. That's okay, you'll get over it anyways. Wanna know why? Because things do get better... Until they're worse, and then everything is awful... Until everything is perfect and life is beautiful... And so forth the cycle continues redundantly.
Oh, how do I know anything about life? I don't know a thing. But I have experienced a steep series of mountains and valleys that led me to the conclusion that life truly isn't fair. Life isn't full of justice. And life certainly is completely worth the crap that's thrown your way.
The thing is, I'm contradicting myself in a matter because things do get better. It just doesn't get better on a time limit. Stop expecting tomorrow to be the best day of your life just because it's not today, it's not now.
It's you. It's your perception of your day and taking the bad head on while deciding to focus on the good. Look at the worst day of your life that you can ever imagine, then compare it with today. Is it worse than the prior? Then okay. Choose that day to be the worst day of your life and try your best to not treat today as though they're equal. Unless, of course, they are.
Maybe what I'm saying, is to stop throwing away days like a rotten apple just because there's a small bruise. Easy around the bruise. Be completely in tune with your day, because as everybody will always tell you, "things could be worse" and, "today could be your last."
You deserve to have as many good days as possible before your departure. But that can't happen if you're tossing away an entire vehicle because the seatbelt burned you from the sun. Oh, how I adore analogies.
If anybody takes anything away from my article, I want it to be even a minute measure of self-worth. Quit wasting the only life you get. You are loved, even if you don't feel it at all.
So share this article, whether that be for yourself, your best friend, your sister, or that one girl in class you never talked to but always wanted to. Everybody needs reassurance. And everybody deserves to receive reassurance in return.
