We are all on a path. A path to greatness, love, or maybe peace of mind. No one knows for sure where they are going, but we are headed somewhere. It is all out of our control. We can sit in the car and let the universe drive us where we are meant to be. Perhaps your path is a busy highway or maybe a beat up dirt road. Either way, they take us on a ride. A ride through hardships and happiness, good fortune and mishaps. We do not meet people by chance or experience life altering events out of pure luck. Every instant is carefully mapped out for us, intertwined with the good and the bad. It is difficult to accept that some higher power predetermined our life for us. What? Are we just suppose to sit in the passenger seat and the universe take us?

Yes.

We live in a world with too many right and left turns. People trying to slow down the gas peddle so they can cherish a moment longer. Or swerving the car in reverse to relieve something that is lost. Just know that everything happens for a reason. Cliche`, but true.

Think back to when something unexpected happened. I mean, an instance where you were suppose to go somewhere and chose not to last minute. Or decided to change your plans as you walked out the door. Maybe that led to you running into someone you did not expect. Perhaps the person you are destined to spend eternity wth. Or maybe you missed a car accident because your dog needed a walk right before you left the house. Either way, these moments do not just happen. They are set in stone before they occur, meant to help us on our journey through life.

Think back to a regret in your past. Perhaps your path stopped when you wish it kept going. You chose left when you needed to chose right. You hated yourself for walking away or maybe because you did not. You did it to please others, or maybe for someone you loved. You regret it now. It ruined your life. Sent you into a downward spiral. But, it was meant to happen. To teach you how to see the world in a different light or to help you grow. You hated yourself everyday, even have a scar to prove it, but understand your path took you there for a reason. Maybe you still do not know why, but it is okay to let it go.

Think back to a person who is no longer in your life. You question why they came and left. Maybe they broke your heart or their path simply took them away. You were just road stop in and with a worthless passing wave, they were gone. But, they were meant to leave. Your paths were only temporary. They were suppose to teach you how to love and heal. Feel real heartbreak. Now you are wiser, stronger, maybe a little scared to try again. But, understand they did not leave because of you. Their path kept going while yours remained in place. That is okay. Think about how much better your life is now. Perhaps you are with someone who shows you what real love is.

Think back to when you met that one special person. They came into your life unexpected. Maybe you walked into high school, college, a random Starbucks and there they were. All of your prior choices led you to this moment. When your paths would finally cross. Maybe it happened younger than you thought, or perhaps you are still waiting. Maybe with someone you never pictured, but somehow it worked. The universe made you chose the same high school or college or random Starbucks because your paths were meant to be one.

We are all on a path. They take us where we are supposed to go, who we are supposed to be with. Each moment is selected for us because everything does happen for a reason.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
