Imagine you're working on class work or doing rounds for your nursing job. There are many people that just need a moment. A mid-afternoon nap could sound good to the average college student or even a hard working individual. Some of us like to take 10 minutes to ourselves and rest. The resting part for some of us may be hard at times. The struggle is finding when or where you're supposed to crash. I have come up with a few tips to take care of our nap problem.
1. Consider your sleep schedule.
Some people are early risers and can deal with a noon nap; however, the average teen may not wake up till 12 in the afternoon. So, consider if your gonna lose sleep at night if you take a small power nap during the day. This can affect your body a lot.
2. Get a "wake up call."
Setting an alarm before you hit the zzz's is a wonderful idea. Giving yourself an hour or 30 minutes to snooze before getting up and starting your work can be effective. However, make sure you have some way to wake yourself up, because you don't want to oversleep and not be able to do anything you had planned.
3. Drink caffeine.
This may sound like the craziest idea ever but, it works. Caffeine takes 15-20 minutes to kick in. So if you drink a cup of coffee or a soda before your 10-minute nap it will leave you refreshed and rejuvenated to start up again.
4. Take a walk.
So instead of snoring on a couch or lying your head down on your desk, try getting up and taking a walk outside. On average most people get sleepy after lunch so, if you get up and take a walk outside you get exercise and eventually your body will energize itself.
5. Don't nap after 4:00 p.m.
Basically, if you nap after 4:00 p.m. you won't wake up till when you normally go to sleep. So your sleep patterns will be all kinds of messed up. If it's before 4:00 p.m. you might get a good night sleep later.
