As exams approach, you're probably more stressed than you've been the entire year, and it's quite overwhelming. However, don't let a couple of exams stress you out so much that you are unable to function; you should be taking care of yourself as well. This is a very crutial part of getting good grades as well. Taking care of yourself is just as important as studying. Always remember this! So if you're stressing about exams and don't know how to be successful at test taking, here's some tips on some tactics to use when you're getting down to the final weeks of the semester.

1. Eating healthy

I know it may sound cliche, however, eating healthy foods has proven to improve mood and stamina. Therefore, your nutrition is a very essential part of good test taking skills and will improve your test scores and it will make you happier!

2. Sleep

Sleep is probably the most important part of test taking; I mean who can take a test and actually do well when they are half asleep? Chances are, not many or no one for that matter. Anyone that doesn't get a lot of sleep is prone to making mistakes and when taking finals, you want to avoid as many mistakes as possible.

3. Staying hydrated

Hydration is important weather you are studying for a final or not. A lot of students drink coffee or energy drinks when studying, which isn't exactly healthy, but sometimes it's the only option available. If so, then you should always remember to stay hydrated 100% of the time. Neglecting this could make you very sick and can make you feel horrible, and no one wants to feel sick when studying or taking a final.

4. RELAX

Stress is a huge factor in test taking; stressing out is the worst thing you can do to yourself when taking an exam. So take some time to yourself to relax if you feel too overwhelmed with the material you are studying. Go take a walk, watch a movie, spend time with friends or even take time for yourself to think about something other than studying.

5. Study

Even though it's a bummer, you still really have to take a majority of your time around exams to study the material you need to know. Studying is never fun, however, if you do it right, you are bound to suceed!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
