Just in 2017 alone, makeup brands have developed thousands of iconic products that have taken over Ulta shelves, the Internet, and most importantly, my wallet. There are certain products that I cannot imagine my makeup routine without. As well as makeup, I also have a lot of beauty essentials. I would be totally lost without all of these items…

1. Batiste Fragrance Dry Shampoo

For those days that washing your hair and drying it is just way too much to handle...this is a great alternative!

2. The Wet Brush

This is the only brush I use….I am obsessed! Of course its called ‘Wet’ brush because its main purpose is to go on wet hair but I love the brush for dry, wet, and for styling.

3. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

I absolutely SWEAR by this concealer. If you watch any beauty youtuber, you know this was one of the most popular products of 2017 if not the most. I use this for cover up, to conceal under eyes, to highlight certain areas of my face, or just as a foundation when I don’t feel like doing my whole routine.

4. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20

Another great product if you’re not looking for the full coverage look. This can be a quick and easy step if you’re again not wanting to wear a ton of makeup but still need a little coverage.

5. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

An absolute essential in my opinion. Not only does this make your look more matte and smooth, it helps your makeup stay in place for the whole day. Even if I put the slightest bit of makeup I still use my powder to set everything.

6. Mac Prep and Prim Fix+ Spray

Similar to the setting powder, this is spray helps set all of you makeup but also primes your face at the same time. You can use it before you apply your foundation to prime and also after to set the whole look and keep it in place. As well as using this for your face, this can also be used to dampen your beauty blender or wet your brushes before applying eyeshadow (which gives a totally different look!).

7. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Another very popular product in the beauty industry. I don’t even use an eyelash curler anymore because this mascara curls my lashes so well! One less step!

8. OGX Moroccan Argan Oil Weightless HealingOil

I have been using this for years! You can use on damp hair then dry or air dry and it makes your hair so much softer.

9. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes

Throughout the years, I have tried so many makeup remover remedies or different brands for wipes….but I will never find anything better than these. They are the easiest thing to grab on the go or the late nights you don’t feel like taking off your makeup, it takes two seconds with these wipes. They don’t hurt my eyes either so a great option for those of you who are normally sensitive to these kinds of things.

10. Clear Chord Hair Ties

my absolute favorite hair tie/ponytail holder

11. Beauty Blender

You can use a beauty blender for just about anything when it comes to makeup. Whether its applying foundation, concealer, buffing in setting powder, applying primer, etc the list goes on!

12. Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex

My all time favorite lotion! I found this lotion last year and have been using it everyday since. Its such a great moisturizer and makes my skin so smooth. I use this after I cleanse my face morning and night as well as when I feel my face is super dry or can also be used to prime your face

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
