As each day passes us by, we keep getting just a little bit older. Many people who are young cannot wait to be an adult for a variety of reasons. You might want to be older so you can have more freedom because you will not have a curfew and you will have your own place to live and will not be forced to do any chores. You also could be rushing to find the love of your life and to get married. Maybe it is just because you want to be able to party. Regardless of your reasons for growing up, we need to cherish our young years.
When you are in high school, you probably feel that graduation day cannot come soon enough. You want to graduate and move on with your life. In a blink of an eye you are accepting your diploma and wondering how in the world it all went by so fast. Now you will no longer get to see your best friends every day or have the comfort of knowing what the next year of your life is going to be like. You have to make plans on what you want to do and how you are going to do it. Maybe you want to go to college or start working right away, either way your life is going to change dramatically.
High school is a great time. Sure going to class and petty drama is not something to call the best times of your life, but it is an easier time in your life where you can have a ton of fun and make so many memories without much responsibility. You and your friends have probably spent countless hours talking about anything and everything and going on random adventures that have created some of your best memories. Those nights you spend reminiscing with your friends; you are going to wish you could relive the memories for the rest of your life.
If you choose to go to college after high school you are definitely going to have the opportunity to make new friends and create new amazing memories. Cherish those times together because before you know it college will be over and you will be out in the real world. College may seem like just another four years of school that you do not want to do but to me it feels like another opportunity to live my life and enjoy being young. While college does come with more responsibilities than high school, you are a lot more independent because you do not have your parents there to tell you what you can and can not do. So if you and your friends want to go on a road trip at 3 a.m. there is no one there to stop you. You should go on that road trip and blast the music loud and take in that happy feeling where you feel like nothing can stop you or your friends. Again, one day you are going to wish that you could do it all over again.
Once we get to a certain age or time in our life there is not much room left for fun and games. Responsibilities come a long such as work or paying bills. Your friends will move on and start their own lives and will no longer be right by your side every day. So just enjoy the time that you have now and cease every opportunity that comes your way because before you know it you will be an adult and you will wish that you could go back and relive your youth.
