Dead week is here, which means finals are just around the corner. A slew of emotions and inevitable happenings are headed your way. Amidst all this, it may be comforting to look back to your favorite step brothers who, while we've never seen them go through end of semester stress, have definitely gone through the same feelings at some point or another.
1. Initially, you freak out. You have way too much to do between finals, papers, presentations, portfolios, projects, graduation prep, summer planning, and all of your end of the year duties.
2. So you make the best study strategy you can. You know that it won't be easy, but with hard work you can accomplish anything!
3. But, despite your best efforts, other "more important" things take priority over studying. You'll suddenly decide that this is a time to do that thing you've wanted to do for a while -- master ping-pong, get in shape, clean your room, binge watch that show on your queue. (Pretty much anything that's not studying).
4. These distractions are made even worse when you hang out with your friends who are going through the exact same end-of-the-semester emotional roller coaster.
5. You attempt to get re-motivated and do your best to care about writing that paper, finishing your study guide, contributing to that group project. Unfortunately, it's a lot harder than it sounds.
6. When you finally do get back in a good work rhythm, everything starts coming at you at once but you are freaking out!
7. You try to take a deep breath but you can't relax because you are literally flipping out.
8. Your worst fear somehow becomes getting super nervous during your presentations and misspeaking, not meeting a time limit or embarrassing yourself in front of the entire class.
9. The struggle to meet word counts (as well as the need to convey you have been learning and paying attention all semester) may turn into redundancy in your writing.
8. All the stress makes you become very on-edge with everyone to the point where you become super snarky.
9. Eating your favorite foods becomes the best, most sacred part of your day (probably because it's the only thing you can control).
10. You become very protective of said food. Roommates, beware.
11. You begin to reflect on all the times your professor told you to come to office hours, read your book and study diligently throughout the semester. You realize, had you done so, your stress and craziness levels would be nowhere near where they are now.
12. You decide call your parents for emotional support, hoping an "I love you" or "It's OK" will get you to the end of the semester.
13. You get a decent grade on that group project and suddenly those people you were afraid to work with become your favorite teammates.
14. The concepts you've been trying to learn all semester suddenly click.
