1. Put together the last supper.
Being the girl who lives on the opposite side of the state as the majority of my friends, the end of every semester may mean going weeks without seeing the people who I spend a lot of time with. So before leaving for break, make sure to put aside time to have a home-cooked meal with the people who matter: your housemates, your close friends, or your big.
2. Go out with friends.
The end of the semester just wouldn’t be complete without a night spent dancing with your girls! Take some time to put the books down and just enjoy each other’s company, and hey it’s the perfect way to get rid of any alcohol before heading home for the break.
3. Plan big trips with your friends.
The winter break gives you ample time do fun things! This is the perfect time to sit down and plan out a trip or two for over the break.
4. Plan days to see your friends in the coming weeks over break.
Again, the planner in me made me write this, but another thing to do before the break is to set days to go visit your friends. This is also great if you and your friends from school live hours away from each other (like mine do).
5. Stay up all night.
This week is hell week and though crawling into bed and forgetting about all of your finals can be very tempting, take advantage of the little time you have before the break. You can stay up all night with your friends talking until you’re delirious or using that time to study. Whatever the case may be, time is precious and besides, you’ll have all winter break to hibernate, no need to get a head start.
6. Map out your Study Schedule.
The moment that we’ve all been dreading is here: studying for finals. This can be a stressful period, but one of the best tips I've received is to map out what you’re studying each day to lessen the stress and to make you feel productive.
7. Buy a Starbucks giftcard.
Whichever your poison may be, Starbucks or Dunkin', coffee will definitely be your best friend for the next few weeks. Make sure you stock up on a few gift cards, get-it points, or whatever you have to do to survive!
8. Clean.
I’m not just talking about regular cleaning, I’m talking about spring cleaning so that when you come back from break, it’ll be like moving into a brand new place.
9. Go to the gym (it’s free!).
Not everyone is a big gym goer like myself, which is fine. But the gym on campus is free and exercise is great stress reliever.
10. Breathe.
And last but certainly not least, take a step back and breathe. Things will be fine and before you know it, you won’t have to stress over finals and you'll be able to relax knowing that you conquered finals week.
