Now that the semester is over and summer break has officially begun, there is time to catch up with the friends back home who you haven't seen since January. However long it's been, it was too long. It's time to celebrate finishing a year of college, so let the road trips, pool parties, and movie nights commence!
Planning in a Group Chat
You've all announced the dates you come home and have started making plans. Of course, a group chat is the least efficient method of making decisions. Someone will probably be busy and come back to 72 texts, and someone else will definitely get off topic, causing the rest of us to follow suit. Eventually though, we all figure where and when we get to catch up, although that's not the important part. The part that matters is finally meeting up and being able to laugh and talk liked we used to every day.
It's time!
You all arrive, one by one, you get to hug and squeal like little kids. You could sit there for hours just enjoying their company. It's so easy to fall back into old habits, sharing stories about school and the past few months, revisiting high school memories, and talking about the rest of the summer.
Say Goodbyes
But not for long! You already discussed the next time to see each other, but that doesn't make hugging goodbye and getting in separate cars any easier. At least you know you don't have to wait too long to see their beautiful faces again. In the meantime, you can post the cute pictures you took on Instagram.
Relax
There are three more months before you have to say farewell and good luck on the next semester, and although that may come sooner than you'd like, take advantage of the time you have. You have your best friends back and the adventures will only continue from here. It's good to be back.
