Some people glide gracefully through life, while others of us seem to stumble, trip, face plant and fall through it. No matter how hard we try to walk without falling, we always seem to somehow end up on the ground. It's a gift, some might say.

1. Falling down the stairs is a an everyday occurrence.

One time, I was with my friend and she fell down the stairs and was very distraught about it. That surprised me a little, but then I realized that I had fallen down the stairs so many times that it was normal for me and just another part of my day. It doesn't phase me. For other people, though, falling down the stairs is not the norm.

2. Flat ground doesn't change anything.

I can trip over literally anything, and this includes nothing. What did I just trip over, you ask? Air. I tripped over the air.

3. You have several scars and bruises from falling.

People ask you how you got a scar and you wish you had a cool back story, but instead you have to tell them you fell off your razor scooter to avoid hitting a lizard.

4. People call you "grace" ironically.

My mom is always saying, "We should have named you Grace. Wouldn't that have been funny?" Hilarious.

5. You've been told "You need to pay more attention."

Everyone assumes you aren't paying attention and, yes, maybe sometimes you zone out while walking and run in to a pole. But most of the time, you are very aware of your surroundings. However, falling or tripping is just inevitable.

6. People warn you about curbs or elevated surfaces.

If my friends are walking in front of me and we have to step on to a curb, I always hear, "Hey, be careful!" It is always directed toward me even if there is a large group of people.

7. Graduation/award ceremonies give you anxiety.

Graduation and award ceremonies probably give everyone nervous jitters, but you are not dreading walking up there and falling in front of everyone. You are dreading your name being called because you know the chances of you falling on the unstable stairs to the stage in heels are very high.

8. You say, "I hope no one saw that" a lot.

When you are walking home or to class and you trip over a crack or bump in the sidewalk, you catch yourself and immediately look around hoping no one saw your embarrass yourself.

9. You still haven't quite mastered heels.

After I joined a sorority, I had to wear heels a lot. I thought I had mastered them and became a little cocky about it. Then I fell at formal and realized that even though I thought I knew how to walk in heels, I still resembled a baby deer walking for the first time.

10. Your clumsiness has landed you in the ER at least once.

I'll never forget the time when I was younger and I tried spinning like a ballerina and ended up splitting open my chin. Seven stitches later, my dreams of becoming a professional ballerina faded very quickly.

11. You've learned to laugh at yourself.

You are probably one of the first people to laugh at yourself when you fall or trip, though your friends don't follow far behind in laughing at you falling for the fifth time in a week.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
