1. Try to remember the worst day you had in 2010. What about 2005? Chances are, unless something truly traumatizing happened to you in a certain year, the bad days have blurred out of your memory. Of course, you remember bad things here and there, but for the most part you are still you, and your life is still moving forward.
2. The next time someone's actions cause you to assume something negative about them, remember a time someone judged you without knowing your full story.
3. Every moment offers a lesson. The times when you learn something the hard way may seem awful in the moment, but when you see every event as an opportunity for growth, trials become a little more manageable.
4. There is beauty in all things. The beauty may not be obvious, at first glance, but there is always a silver lining to be discovered.
5. Sometimes, a no leads to a better yes. When one door closes, another opens. And when one doesn't open right away, go open it yourself.
6. Life's low points make the high points better. A week of little to no sleep makes a Saturday morning with no commitments seem heavenly.
7. The next time something embarrassing happens to you, ask yourself if you would think twice about the same occurrence happening to another person. Chances are, you wouldn't.
8. Each year seems to be shorter than the previous because it represents a smaller fraction of your life. Reflect on all that you have accomplished in your growing repertoire of years. You can, in fact, make changes if you see fit. And always use your accomplishments as motivation to achieve even more.
