Eight Jungle Animals You Will Find In A Sorority

Lions, tigers, and girls, oh my!

Eight Jungle Animals You Will Find In A Sorority

Ever wonder how primal sorority girls really are? Look no further.

Taking a trip through a college campus’ Greek Life may as well be a safari

1. Chimpanzees

These are the girls who are constantly grooming themselves (and one another). Whether it’s running to the bathroom every five minutes to redo their lipstick at the bar or brushing their hair in class, they always make sure they look 100%. Oh, and they won’t be afraid to let you know when you don’t.

2. Elephants

The elephants of Greek Life are the most basic girls you know. They can be compared to elephants because they probably have an elephant tapestry hanging up in their room, along with a few empty Starbucks cups, leggings, and a Lilly planner.

3. Giraffes

Giraffes tower over everyone at a party (maybe physically, but definitely metaphorically). They are the girls who have never had a night they regret or an embarrassing story to tell. They may not be particularly sympathetic when someone else does, either.

4. Lionesses

These girls are the queens of Greek Life, not because of which sorority they are in, but because of the way they own a room when they walk in. They are über confident and exude cool, looking great whether they’re rocking six-inch heels or Nikes. They know they’re awesome, but the best part about them is that they don’t rub it in.

5. Toucans

Toucans have big mouths and they aren’t afraid to use them. These girls can hold a long conversation about anything, whether it’s the newest froyo flavors or the meaning of life. Sometimes they might get on your nerves, but come recruitment, you’re extra thankful they’re there.

6. Zebras

Zebras are the quirky girls who do their own thing and have their own style. Whether or not you like what they’re about, you have to respect them for being so independent.

7. Alligators

These girls are super involved on campus outside of your sorority, so they aren’t always around the chapter house. You may find yourself even forgetting about them sometimes, but once they’re back, they quickly remind you why you’re glad they are.

8. Koalas

In the jungle, koalas can sleep for up to 22 hours a day. In Greek Life, koalas are the girls who are always down for a night in instead of a night out. If you’re ever worried you’re going to be suffering from extreme FOMO, just hang out with a koala. She’ll calm you down quickly by reminding you that with a night of Netflix and popcorn, everyone else should be the ones wishing they were there.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
