When it comes to dorm room living, creativity is a major key. Between the limited amount of spending money, time, and space, you can't have everything you need. With this being said, sometimes you just got to make do. Even though it can be ratchet, these eight items can serve a completely different use in college.

1. Swell Bottle: Wine Holder

By day it may be filled with water, but when night time rolls around (especially on Wednesday) that sucker is filled to the brim with rosé. The 25 oz Swell can hold a full entire bottle of wine and will keep it cold for 24 hours. And on the plus side, you've never looked so stylish drinking.

2. Bandaids: Sticky Boobs

It's last minute and your shirt doesn't work with a strapless bra. The best option to turn to is bandaids, so quick to stick on and they NEVER come off. These babies are essentials.

3. Hand Steamer: Make-shift facial

You're a college kid on a budget and don't have the time for a facial. The hand steamer is the perfect way to open up your pores and clean your face.

4. Hair Ties: Room Key Bracelets

All credit to Zoey 101 and her key necklace. Make a knot with the hair tie and your key; you'll never lose that sucker again.

5. Vaseline: Glitter Sticker

Works wonders on your lips, but if you have a frat party and need to put glitter on, this is the best way to do it. If you don't have vaseline, hairspray works just as well.

6. Hair Dryer: Space Heater

Housing may have banned the use of space heaters for safety reasons, but that doesn't mean you have to be cold. This is the best way to warm your body up after walking all the way back from the communal showers.

7. Lamp Desk: Makeup Light

The overhead lighting in the dorm rooms are the absolute worst and let's be real you haven't used your lamp once to do homework. When trying to put on makeup under the light, you'll walk out of your room looking like an oompa loompa, so God bless your desk light.

8. Hot Water Heaters: Stove

If you're sick and tired of dining hall food and just want a home cooked meal, take you hot water heater in fill it with noodles. In less than 10 minutes you'll have a five-star meal.

There is zero judgment to any of these uses because sometimes you just gotta get the job done.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
