Cheers to a new semester. A semester to build life-long friendships. A semester to make fantastic memories or feel the pressure to do, since that's what college is about, right? A semester to start caring about school because we come to realize that getting good grades is cool. But most importantly and I'm a little biased, this is a semester to take new leaps try new fashion trends. If we have to run around campus trying to get our lives together, we might as well do it in style.
I have done some research and taken my observations to heart, and I am here to tell you what is in, trendy, and style worthy for the upcoming fall semester.
SUEDE TREND
A choice fabric, suede is coming back out of the woodwork—and i don't mean Woodstock, even though that's where I drew my inspiration. Suede matches with so much and adds an extra element of texture to any outfit. It is a smooth, clean, and polished fabric that can be the centerpiece for any killer outfit. Also, your closet is not complete without a pair of suede ankle boots to pair with jeans, dresses, cute ripped shorts, etc. Suede textured pieces can pull any outfit together and give it a new look that you can dress up or down. Warning: If you sweat profusely, refrain from wearing suede in hot weather.

SCHOOL GIRL TREND
Channel your inner gossip girl. God knows I do in more than one way, but high-wasted plaid skirts and knee socks can give you that school spirit to get you through the day. Pair a collared shirt with cute ankle boots and a blazer and you're ready to take on any gel pen that comes your way. If you want a less classy or business look, throw on a pair of ripped tights and Converse, or an oversized sweater for a casual look. With this styled outfit, it is important to break up the color with a pattern. That being said, if you're wearing a plaid dress or skirt, I would pair it with all solid-colored pieces to complete the outfit. I am also a sucker for the uniform-inspired look because it usually features more neutral or darker colors. Maroons, blacks, navies, browns, etc., are huge for fall (well, for me they're huge all year, but whatever). Don't be afraid to add a bright pop of color, either in a jacket, statement necklace, or bow.

DENIM TREND
This is a trend that never has and never will go out of style. Denim matches with everything and it is everything. That being said, not only are the traditional denim jeans being styled, but jean skirts and tops have also graced my eyes lately. This is a trend I greatly appreciate and it is easy to style, since denim is a staple piece in any wardrobe. Even denim on denim is becoming acceptable. Yes, I said it—the denim tuxedo is making a comeback (use discretion). I love to throw on a pair of super ripped boyfriend jeans and ankle boots and make my way to class. It is easy and spunky and totally in style.
