Okay so with school starting soon, I feel it is needed to give some tips to help you all become more enjoyable humans in the morning and make it easier to go to those grueling 8 AM classes or to get to work on time.
1. Go to sleep at a reasonable time.
That's right ladies and gents, your ritual actually starts the night before with going to bed early. I know it's unfortunate that you can't binge watch Netflix for hours until 3 A.M. but don't worry there are plenty of hours in the day to do that!
2. Ditch the black out shades.
STOP blocking that morning light from shining into your windows. It may be annoying at first but it will make waking up way easier if you can see that the sun is out.
3. Set an alarm clock across the room.
Put your alarm clock across the room, far enough that you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Set two alarms in different spots of the room if you do not trust yourself to stay awake after just one alarm. Do not put it next to your bed or under your pillow, it is too easy to just shut it off and go back to sleep if you are still laying down in your comfy bed.
4. Wash your face or take a shower.
When you finally get out of bed, go to the bathroom and wash your face or even take a shower to help wake yourself up, not only will you feel more awake but you will feel clean and ready to start your day.
5. Have a plan for breakfast.
Coffee is not breakfast, it can be a part of your breakfast but if that is all you consume in the morning you will crash. Make time in the morning to eat, even if it is a little something like a granola bar. You will have more energy and feel more awake.
6. Wear one of your favorite outfits.
If you look good you'll feel good. You will also be more excited when you wake up in the morning to wear your favorite outfit. You will be excited to show off your outfit to the public which will make going to school/work more exciting.
7. Give yourself enough time.
Give yourself enough time to get ready in the morning. Try not to rush. You will be calmer and happier if you can take your time and get ready at your own pace without rushing out the door.
8. Keep a planner.
Keep a planner with all of your daily tasks or activities that you have to accomplish that day. You will feel more organized and like you have your life together if you see it all written out and in a schedule.
9. Be more positive.
Trust me, I know it is hard to wake up early, but with a little more positivity in the mornings, you can make the earliness of the mornings a better time. With a consistent routine, you will be able to wake up and enjoy every part of the day, not just the afternoon and night time.
