Every friend group has a mix of personalities in it which makes a group complete. Here’s a list of common personalities most groups have in them, and no matter which category your friend falls in they are an important part of your friend group:
The blunt friend: The one friend in the group who will tell you how it is even if you don’t want to hear it. This friend is the one who is going to tell you to stop dating that fu*kboy, when you need to hit the gym, and if those jeans aren’t working for you. As difficult as this friend can be to listen to, they are probably right and are an important person in your life.
The glue: This is the friend that keeps the group together when everything is falling apart. This is the friend that won’t get involved in the group drama but also won’t allow the group drama to tear them apart. The friend that is the glue of the group needs to be thanked a million times over.
The dumb blonde: This is the friend that stumbles around bumping into everything. She is not the brightest one of the group and everyone knows it. The dumb blonde is always confused and is oblivious to everything happening around her. She might be slow, but she slowly made her way into our hearts.
The mom: This friend is the one who is going to answer your 3 a.m. phone calls, pick you up across town, and wipe your tears when you’re upset. The mom of the friend group is going to make sure you text her the moment you’re home so she knows you’re safe, she is going to take the drink out of your hand because she knows you’ve had enough, and she is going to be overprotective of you. The mom friend is kind of annoying sometimes, but she proves over and over again how much she cares about you all and you need thank her for all she does for you guys.
The dramatic one: This friend is the queen of being dramatic. She thinks she is dying when she finds a bump on her arm and has a panic attack over the diagnosis Google gives her. This friend will over exaggerate everything, and the drama she brings is unbearable. The dramatic friend is a lot to handle but she always keeps things interesting.
The wild one: This friend is the life of the party. Of course this friend is easy going and has no interest in staying in for the night. The wild friend is going to push you to drink just “one more tequila shot”, and will pull you onto the dance floor for the rest of the night. This friend can be overwhelming and exhausting, but the wild friend is never a letdown when you’re with her. Thanks for all the exciting nights even if we regret some of them in the morning.
The classy one: The one friend who has been a rule follower since the day you’ve met them. This friend study’s on Saturday nights, is always willing to be the DD, and is always reminding the group to do the right thing. This friend rarely has any juicy stories to share with group but when she finally does everyone listens. This friend makes you second guess your moral decisions every-time you think about her, everyone needs a friend like this to keep you in line.
The sarcastic one: This friend is never serious, and constantly makes the group laugh, although one of you tends to fall victim to her sarcastic jokes time to time. You can never tell if what this friend is saying is serious or not, but she always lightens up the mood - even if it’s at the worst time possible to say something sarcastic.
The emotional one: This friend is found crying a lot, over everything. A fight, a break-up, a sad dog commercial, this friend is probably crying over it. Drinking with this friend can turn into an emotional rollercoaster, and although it’s difficult trying to handle all the emotions of this friend, she has a true caring heart that everyone appreciates it.
The crazy one: This friend is the one who threatens your boyfriend, screams at your enemy’s, and keys your ex’s car. This friend will never let anyone talk poorly about the group, and isn’t afraid to throw a few punches. We might call this friend crazy but we know she does all these things out of love, and we will always bail her out of jail when she calls.
The baby: This is the friend you watch-out for a little bit more than anyone else. The baby of the group is usually the youngest and the one nobody can touch. Every-one in the group keeps an extra eye out for her, and she is always reminded that she is the baby. She may hate being the baby but she knows she is extra loved.
Thanks for all of the personalities that complete the group; it wouldn’t be same without you guys.
