Every language has some incredibly beautiful songs, so does the Dutch language. In the Netherlands, we make a lot of music, and even though you won't understand a word, these songs are definitely worth a listen. So sit back and enjoy, 'cause even without words these songs will make you feel something! I'm not going to say anything about them, so you should let them speak themselves.

1. "Liefde van Later" performed by Do

Translated: We have fought so many years, against each other and with each other. But quiet life and satisfied is a danger to love.

2. "Ken Je Mij" performed by Trijntje Oosterhuis

Translated: I would like to speak a word, that is true and mine, that bears who I am, that keeps it.

3. "Mag Ik Dan Bij Jou" performed by Claudia de Breij

Translated: If there is a rule, what I can not meet, can I then stay with you? And if I have to be something, what I have never been, can I then stay with you?

4. "Wat Is Mijn Hart" performed by Simone Kleinsma

Translated: What is your heart? If it stops, it is no longer correct, if it is no longer committed If it is hard, and confused, hiding from reality What is your heart?

5. "Zeg Me Dat Het Niet Zo Is" performed by Edsilia Rombley

Translated: We pretend it is not, as if it is not so, as if it is not true.

6. "Margherita" performed by Marco Borsato

Translated: I lose it from despair, and I feel my tears burning, and I would not want anything more than my head back in your hands.

7. "Het Is Over" performed by O'G3NE

Translated: The passion and the love, the blazing fire, have slowly slipped from my heart.

8. "Omarm" performed by BLØF

Translated: How far you go, has nothing to do with distance, at most with time.

Translated: The bruised spot of inability, vulnerable as it is, I am overwhelmed, and screams of this lack.

10. "Ik Leef Mijn Eigen Leven" performed by André Hazes Jr.

Translated: I close my eyes and think, and everything goes through me. Then I see my whole life, I enjoyed a lot, but also cried a lot, but I will never regret that.

11. "Over De Muur" performed by Klein Orkest

Translated: And only the birds fly from East to West Berlin. Do not be fired back, not shot either over the wall, over the iron curtain, because they sometimes want to be in the west, sometimes also in the east."

12. "De Bestemming" performed by Marco Borsato

Translated: Show me what I live for. Let me feel what I give. One moment so that I know that everything was not for nothing.

13. "Breng Me Naar Het Water" performed by Matt Simons & Marco Borsato

Translated: I am ready to travel. I did everything. Take my hand and feel it flow. The love that I carry with me.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
