Being the hopeless romantic than I am, I often find myself questioning what is the true meaning of love? I mean, does anyone really know what it means or what it feels like? After consulting all of the sources I knew- my mom, my grandparents, my coworkers, a random bus driver, and even the magical world of Google, no one could give me an answer I was happy with. Every response I got was overthought and too complicated. This was true until I had the best idea of my entire life: asking the least critical thinking, most honest group of people I knew- anonymous drunk college students.* This is what my research concluded:
"Love is that personal connection, with another person...female or male. And its just like... you can't be separated from one another. And its just like unbreakable.......(long pause) and thats all I got."
"Love is not real. Its, its bull-sh*t. It's business tactics. It's just business tactics, thats all it is."
"Putting someones needs before your own."
"Love is always, you guys, are just, you just simultaneously hold hands. You don't have to talk about it, it just happens naturally."
"SEX, SEX, REALLY GOOD SEX. WAIT NO!! Love is like when she's really attractive and but you love her for her personality."
"I really don't know what love is...my girlfriend just broke my heart."
"Love is, love is something you enjoy.. And its something that makes you happy in life. And thats pretty much it."
"Love is when you don't care about his penis size."
"Love is when you love him for him, and he's always being true to you. He looks at you like you're the greatest thing he's ever seen. The seventh wonder of the world, the most amazing piece of beauty... I meant eighth wonder."
"Love is when you don't want to be with anyone else."
So, there you have it, folks. Drunk words, sober thoughts... I guess? I hope this helped, or at least made you laugh.
*By no means did I encourage the use of underaged drinking in the participants of my study.
