Dreams And Aspirations

What are your dreams for life?

Dreams and aspirations can do wondrous things for people in life. Dreams can push us to do things that we normally wouldn't do or help us find out that there are things in life we can do when we thought we couldn't. Dreams and aspirations can also do not so wondrous things for us. I know many people have the fear of not being able to fulfill their dreams. The fear that something won't happen or they can't do whatever it is that they want to do. This fear also goes hand in hand with the fear of letting others down. These fears are very legitimate things but they should not stop us on this path.

A lot of times, as much as we may not want to agree with this, we are what gets in the ways of our dreams. Mentally, we as people have a very belittling mind. All it takes is one thought to completely dismantle our dreams. As depressing as that may be, we must remember that our dreams and the places we will be once are dreams are fulfilled are great enough things that one bad thought shouldn't be enough to make us flinch. Fear is one of the greatest emotions, it is true. However, fear is not invincible. Fear can be overcome by enough hope and positivity.

Sometimes friends are key in helping us on the path to our dreams. People with similar dreams are people who we could use in these times. People who can unite under common goals are people who we can always count on to keep our dreams alive. People who we find have like goals and aspirations won't want us to think negatively or feel fear. They are always there with a shoulder for us to lean on just as they would hope we would be there for them. It is important to put ourselves in the sort of light where we can empathize with people. How would we want to be treated in this situation? If I was feeling upset or fearing my aspirations, how would I want people to help me out? When we think in this sort of way, we never feel as if others are looking down on our dreams and we won't do the same to them.

Dreams are a powerful thing. Yet, they are always changing. Today's dreams could change by tomorrow and then change ten times more in a week, but thats the great things about dreams. They are yours. You are allowed to decide what it is that you want. No one can say that your dreams are unrealistic or that you are not living up to your potential. You can do whatever it is you want to and no one can get into the way of your dreams. Live to see your dreams come to fruition. Take a friend or three along with you for the ride if you want.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
