Your 20's are going to be one of the most important decades of your life. You will graduate from college, get your first big job, find out who your life-long friends will be, most likely meet your husband/wife, and it will be a time where it seems like every decision you make will somehow impact how the rest of your life will turn out. While this is all true, it is also a time where you are on a path of self-discovery, with big dreams and big plans. You are on your way to being “thirty, flirty and thriving” and it’s an exciting, yet scary journey. To me, the start to your big dreams is a big city. Living in a city is a way to begin your journey of so many new experiences and new people, and if you know a big city is a place where you will belong, then you must be determined to make that dream happen. With that, these are the reasons why you will want to live in a big city during your 20's.

The views

No matter where you are headed in a big city, there always seems to be something to be looking at that stands out. At any time of day, the city looks amazing no matter if there is rain, snow or sunshine.

The people

It is no secret that there are tons of people in big cities. Streets are filled with all kinds of people and from places all around the world. With that said, there are plenty of new people that you can meet that can bring you to great experiences and most likely amazing friends.

Being independent

All your life you have someone telling you what you should be doing or some thing that is holding you back from finding exactly what you want. Picking up and leaving the life that is familiar to you is a frightening thing, but sometimes that is all you need to find yourself. People say you have to learn to love yourself before you can truly love someone else, and there is no better way to do that then being completely on your own and finding out what you want out of life.

You’ll never be bored

Cities such as New York City are not known as “the city that never sleeps” for no reason. There is always something going on and some place you could be enjoying yourself. There is never a time where you can find yourself saying, “I’m bored” because you’ll always be entertained.

Endless opportunities

People from all over come to the city in search of something that they don’t have, whether they are conscience that they are doing that or not. Within each city, there are thousands of companies and corporations that can bring you once in a lifetime jobs or chances. You are sure to find your next big break that can lead you to something that will change your life forever.

You are making your way to success

It is also not a secret that living in a large city is quite expensive. The perfect apartment you have in mind when you decide to move to this new place may not be exactly what you end up with at the end of the day. A quaint 10’ by 10’ apartment may be what you will have to settle with for the time being, but it will be worth it. The job that you have now will lead you to the next great one, which will lead you to that remarkable downtown apartment in the heart of that perfect city.

So pack up your belongings, move to a big city full of bright lights and even bigger dreams. I promise, you won’t regret it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
