Living In The Shadow Of Doubt?

It's time to question your questions.

Living In The Shadow Of Doubt?
Sara Vargas

We put ourselves through so much unnecessary pain.

We question, "will it rain"?

We wonder, "what is our gain"?

What will we have when it is all taken away?

Who you are today, is who you will be tomorrow if you do not pursue a change.

Close your eyes and tell yourself what you see.

If you lie, then you're missing out on what you can be.

The promise was not that our opportunity would come without pain

The promise instead was that the cities we build would not be in vain.

When you doubt your power

You're building a tower and walls that surround you and your lonely city.

Know you are not alone in your doubt, but rather seek and figure out

How you can live with and without.

That stranger you see every time you cross that ghetto street

No shoes on his feet but his heart continues to beat

So sing your doubts to sleep.

There is no rest for people who live with defeat.

Forgive yourself and forget your pain.

It is okay to run out the other way

As long as you are running with open arms and an open heart

Into a world filled with art

Turn your sorrow into song

Turn your pain into praise

Listen to a different tune and your heart will sing a different song

One that says it is okay to be wrong

It is okay to be wrong.

There is a beautiful future and purpose waiting for you,

And there is nothing that you have done or could ever do

that makes you less deserving of what was meant for you.

Each star in the sky is alive for us to explore.

Each letter, each number is meant for us to question more.

Doubt has the potential to lead us into the depths of discovery.

Doubt doesn't want you to doubt.

It wants you to figure out what you're going to do about the things you cannot see, and the things you do not know.

Oh, how beautiful is our world without fear

Oh how happy is an honest soul

Doubt is the reason we hesitate to speak our minds.

It makes us wonder how much truth can we say and still be kind?

Imagine the world where we could all understand everything instantly

How boring it would be to live for infinity

Look into your heart and close your eyes

Tell yourself exactly what you find

Do you want to be kinder?

Do you want to be softer?

Do you want it bad enough that you will lay down your pride and fear and doubt?

You will never get to where you want to go

If you spend time putting on a show

that you hate

Oh how you hate that your never create

You are only molded and sculpted until check. mate.

Doubt

It has the power to bring truth

It has the power to bring pain

What you do with it and how you find your way

Will change the path that we walk today

Will change the path that does lay

Under stars forever waiting for you

Waiting for you to doubt your doubt.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
