With most of my friends at other schools getting apartments for next year, I definitely have mixed feelings about spending another year living in a dorm.
There's no doubt that it would be nice to have room to spread out and to live in a space that includes more rooms than just a bedroom. Having my own bathroom, kitchen, and living room is a commodity that currently I can only dream of. That being said, living in a dorm is definitely not all bad. Sometimes, it's even worth the community bathrooms.
1. Basically, everything is cleaned for you. Except your tiny bedroom.
2. Speaking of your tiny bedroom, you appreciate your room at home way more.

Don't get me wrong. You can't go wrong with a bed. But somehow, my double bed at home is better than my twin bed at school (even if it is a twin XL).
3. Hall bonding activities are actually kind of fun.
I can't make friends on my own, but any help is appreciated.
4. And speaking of those, your RA is a total BA for organizing them.

Or even better, your RA ends up becoming one of your good friends, like mine did.
5. The bond you share with your roommate is totally indescribable.

It's hard not to become close after sharing the same tiny room for almost a year. They've seen the good, the bad, and lots of the ugly, and they still love you for it. #RoomieAppreciation
6. And the other friends you meet on your hall are pretty freaking awesome too.

As Confucius once said friends you meet in the showers are friends you will treasure forever.
7. Even if you're not best friends with everyone, you have a network of all different types of people right outside your door.

Since a hall is basically randomly assigned, there are all different types of people living there - athletes, girls in every sorority, you name it. It's cool to know people from all over.
8. There's excitement going on at basically all hours.
If there's one thing that's true about living in a dorm, it's that life is never boring. All you have to do to be social is open up your door, and tons of people will appear in your room. It's like magic.
9. All in all, you'll never get a chance to live in a huge building with all your friends again -- so live it up!
It's not the ideal life for most people, but it's a blast. You only suffer through a dorm for a few years of your life max, so it's best to appreciate it while you can!
