Doodle Horoscopes

Take a closer look at those doodles.

Doodle Horoscopes

In 7th grade, we would spend hours doodling our crush's name in a heart and practice writing what we believed to be our future last name (mine being Taylor Efron), but now it is more likely that we are doodling to help keep ourselves awake during BIO371.

By taking a deeper look, you can discover that your doodles say a lot about you and they can sometimes even predict your future. So, dig out your old Bio notebook and decode those hieroglyphic doodles into one of four different categories.

Flowers and Animals

You're calm and an easy going person. You don't like to cause a stir and you could probably get along with anyone. Your lack of concrete opinions and fear of opposition can sometimes get you into trouble, especially revolving around your love life and making decisions when shopping. However, your future is bright. You are most likely going to live a cheerful life and go scuba diving with your best friend. Plus, you're destined to own a chubby little dog named Patch.

Your Own Name

You're egocentric and hard-headed, but that's OK. You know what you want and how to get it. You see the prize and the game is on. Sometimes your determination can cause you to be pretty hard on yourself and it can cause a strain on personal relationships. However, these qualities allow for you to excel in your career. In the future, you will live in an apartment right in the heart of the city and you've decided to forgo the whole marriage thing. Sometimes you get lonely, but then you remember the awesome shooters that you had with Katy Perry last week at a hot new club and you realize that you wouldn't want it any other way.

Stick People

You're a people-pleaser. You constantly are thinking about others and you ooze empathy. You're smart and plan for the future, always weighing the possible outcomes before making a big decision. Sometimes you tend to overextend yourself when it comes to committing to plans and expectations, but it always seems to work out in the end. Your future is becoming a stay-at-home parent and raising your children, who you love to spend every moment with. You live in the small white house on the corner and love to vacation in the south. Sweet tea is definitely your favorite.

Shapes and Symbols

A mover and shaker, that's what you are. You live by the saying "work hard, play harder." The minute when you walk into the room, you are the center of attention. Your witty personalty and gleaming smile win people over and you're really not upset about it. You had a wonderful experience at college and met your significant other post grad because why would you want to settle down? However, once you find that special someone, you're hooked.

I hope that you take the time to fully explore your horoscope and make strides to incorporate these predictions into your next major life decision. You know what they say, with great knowledge comes great responsibility. Wait, who am I kidding? I'm no fortune teller on the boardwalk of the Jersey Shore, these are just doodles. Now, quit messing around and get back to taking notes.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
