Oh Prince Charming; an almost impossible and unrealistic expectation for men everywhere. I might have the heart of one, but not necessarily the looks. Thanks a lot Disney! (insert mad emoji face here) When it comes to being an actual prince charming though, some guys do not exactly live up to the hype. They might have the looks, but turn out to be a Gaston or a Hans. Not all guys are like that though. I do know some good guys who have the looks and are willing to fight for their princesses no matter the cost. Now with me, I do not consider myself a prince in any way, shape, or form. I am more like the Genie to Aladdin, Olaf to Elsa and Anna, Kronk to Yzma, and Little John to Robin Hood. "Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally, golly what a day!"
I am not a Prince Charming. I am charming yes, but when it comes to adding the term "Prince" in front of that, it is just a no-no for me. It is not because I am belittling myself; I promise you that I am not. It is because the sidekicks seem to have a little more fun than their heroic counterparts. They are the funny ones who make light of a bad situation, as well as always being there for you when you need them the most.
The lovable side characters are really what I strive to be like in life because like them, I have a big heart, a big smile, and always want to be there for my friends. Now, there may be a day in my life somewhere in the future where I find myself a princess and become a prince myself like Aladdin. The idea is not off of my plate that's for sure, but until then, I am more than happy being the sidekick.
There is a prince and/or a princess out there for all of us, and one day we will find them. If you choose not to, that is totally fine. We will find that one person who makes us feel like we are the richest person in the world. A lot of us joke about it, saying things like, "I'm going to be single forever!" "No boy could handle my insanity." "#TeamSingle4Ever." My favorite one is actually, "At least I have my cats."
I really cannot say what the future is going to hold for you or me. It is all still in the making and being written every second. You are still young, and if you found that special someone, then I am ecstatic for you. I wish you the absolute best. For those like me, however, do not worry. It just is not time for the unveiling of our prince or princess. Does not even have to be a prince or princess really. They could be a Kronk or a Kristoff. They could also be a Meg or an Esmerelda. Just keep wishing on that star and you will soon find yourself in a whole new world.
