This presidential election is becoming increasingly infuriating for most Americans. It's become painful for me to watch mainly because we have no good candidates. We have Donald Trump, who wants to build a massive wall across the Mexican border (because that will work, right?). We have Bernie Sanders, who wants to make college education free (which is a nice gesture but a little unrealistic). And last but not least, we have Hillary Clinton who manages to lie more than her husband (let's not forget, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman"). It seems as though Bill is always taking his pants off, and Hillary can't get enough of the pant suit. This should have been our first red flag that these two do not need to be in office.
Although Donald Trump is radical, he's brutally honest. And even though Bernie Sanders seems to be unrealistic about our financial situation, he seems to be a trustworthy guy. But regardless of radical ideas or unrealistic notions, I can't shake off the dishonesty. I would rather have a mess of a financial situation or an ugly wall across the border of Mexico than a lying president.
Let's talk about her first stint with dishonesty: the email scandal. First of all, who uses a personal email for work, especially in the government? Bill really should have given her a heads up. He has enough experience with scandals and could have probably given her some good advice. Call me crazy, but I could never imagine using my carlipenguin email for classified government information. Not only is it incredibly unprofessional, it's also violating a federal law. If I did use my personal email and got more than 1,660 documents leaked, I wouldn't cover it up, either. If I wanted to be president, I would want people to trust me, so the last thing I would do after a major scandal is cover it up because the media's job is to uncover it, and they always will.
Then, Hillary goes as far to say she supports gay marriage. I'm all for gay marriage, and I'm glad she's a supporter, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it seems fake. It doesn't seem genuine because back in 2000 in White Plains, NY, at a news conference, Clinton said, "Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time, and I think a marriage is, as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman." Now fast forward to April 2015 when same sex marriage was legalized, in perfect time for the election, Hillary tweets (I'm surprised she even knows how?) "Every loving couple & family deserves to be recognized & treated equally under the law across our nation. #LoveMustWin #LoveCantWait."
Hillary seems to be bored with her own life, so she creates a more dramatic one for herself. She told the world her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, was jogging outside of the World Trade Center during 9/11. She later admitted this was untrue and Chelsea was actually safe in her apartment in Union Square. Not only is Hillary lying, but she is also so insensitive to people who lost loved ones on that tragic day.
This woman will even lie about her name! She claims she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Mount Everest. There's a slight problem with this claim; however, he climbed Everest after Hillary was born. Actually, when she was six years old. Hillary lied again, but maybe she will blame this one on her parents. Who knows, maybe it runs in the family?
I believe a woman should be president one day, but not this woman. She's dishonest and lies more than I thought was even possible. Do the country a favor and don't let her represent the United States of America. The fact she can't figure out how to use her work email, lies about her daughter being around the World Trade Center during 9/11, can't decide whether she's for or against gay marriage and doesn't even know her own name are all warning signs she would make an awful president.
Those pantsuits are atrocious, too. Please, don't subject our country to this.
