Have you ever had a darkness so discomforting that it blinded you from the light? Or have you ever had something that when you're ready to fall asleep, it whispers in your ear and keeps you all night? Or maybe when you wake up, it's saying good morning to you. With bags under your eyes and you yawn heavily, but you sleep because the day is young and you have to get ready. Every day is a new day. Every day is a new fight. One thing about demons is that they always invite more. It's like they have the right to corrupt your mind with uneasy thoughts. whether it is your insecurities when you look in the mirror, the sadness if your eyes as you fight depression, or maybe it is that one girl you have to have for the night, just like you did last night.
See, demons come in many different forms. No one demon is the same, but they all affect us the same. They target your thoughts and it takes everything in you to keep you from going insane.
Learning to fight your demons is like learning how to walk - it does take time. It also takes patience, this won't happen overnight. Lastly, it takes perseverance. You'll have setbacks when trying to fight them off, don't give up. No matter how many times you fall, never stay down; grab onto something and get back up. It's okay to lose a battle from time to time; it isn't bad as you win the war.
Now how to win the way, it's simple; I've voiced this is many of my articles - love yourself. Be yourself. I simply cannot express this enough. If you love yourself, flaws and all, what can the demons feed upon? What can they instill their fear into if you are already aware? How you think will greatly affect your life. If you're constantly pessimistic, you will never be able to conquer your demon. You'll succumb and just give up. Never give up, you have to finish. FINISH! That is one of the most important words in the English dictionary. You must finish everything with the best of your ability. It goes back to never giving up.
See, I'm not different from the rest of you. I'm human, I have my demons and I am aware of them as they are me. This isn't a testimony though. There's a way to fight your demons. Don't give in, I've heard and read about so many suicides because people just give up. They chose a permanent solution for a temporary problem. Your demons are only as big as you make them. Demons are only demons you let them be demons. You can turn a demon into an angel with the right mentality. It's about having a solid mindset - a positive mindset. If you never give your demon ammo, they have nothing they can shoot you with. Learn to take control of your emotions and your life.
