“Dear Women, sometimes you’ll just be 'too much' woman. Too smart, too sexy, too strong, too bold, too beautiful, too real. Too much of something that makes a man feel like less of a man, which will start making you feel like you have to be less of a woman to be with that man. DON’T do that... Don’t remove your jewels from your crown to make it easier for a man to carry. You do not need a bigger crown. You need a man with bigger hands” - Unknown
Day in and day out I hear my friends talking about how they feel like they have to settle, or they have to lower their standards, or they have to change themselves, because they haven’t found a man that can handle the or that can live up to their standard. Believe me I have had people tell me a million times, including my closest family members, that I need to lower my standards because I will never find a man that can be what I want. Well ladies, I am here to tell you that I don’t care what anyone else says, you do not need to change, you do not need to lower your standards, and you do not need to settle for a man that isn’t man enough for you anyways.
You are a child of God, you are to inherit His kingdom, and you are royalty because you are a daughter of the truest King. You deserve a man who will love you the way Christ loved the church, as he is called to do (Ephesians 5:25). You deserve a man who is not going to be intimidated by your independence, your intelligence, or your capability. You deserve a MAN of Christ who is going to point you to the Gospel in everything you do and who will never try to change you, but will only try to keep you on the path that God has laid out for you, according to his word and his will. You do not need to lower your standards if they are in Christ because he has already set the standard and he is what we are striving for (Matthew 5:48) (Colossians 3:1-4).
Your man will never be Christ, so he will never be perfect, but you are the way you are because the Lord made you that way. So, don’t settle for man that doesn’t have big enough hands to hold your crown which is a symbol of your royalty in Christ. Patiently wait with your crown on your head until God blesses you with a man that will love you, and lead you the way he has designed them too. If this “man” can not hold your crown, then he is not the one for you. Don’t be less of a woman or settle for less of a man, because a man of christ will do as christ says and he will not take away your jewels, he will add to them.
