Don't Let The Scary Movies End
Bloody Disgusting

Don't let the scary movies end, just because October has officially ended! I have been on a scary movie spree all month (even though I always watch scary movies anyways, October or not). I will name some of my top favorites for you!

1. 28 Days Later

This one was a bit odd at first, and I am extremely picky when it comes to scary movies but most specifically, zombie horror films. It started off interesting and made me feel sad for the tested apes but you will learn why they were not fit for the outside world anymore. I am a huge animal advocate and very against animal testing. If there was a way for the zombie apocalypse to begin, it would most definitely be because some animal lovers let tested animals out without thinking about the outcome of the damaged animals. I totally agree with this movie on that part. The forcing women part was a bit ehh and made me feel well... ehh. I understood why that had to happen, (in the movie) but I hate those kinds of scenes. The movie was very realistic if something like that were to ever happen! So I like the realism of it all!

2. The Exorcist

I enjoyed the original Exorcist a lot. It has a classic horror to it and my favorite horrifying parts are first, the random evil face in the house and second, when the girl's face starts to turn into an evil look. I love classic horror films, what can I say?

3. The Babadook

This is my most favorite, not gonna lie! I highly recommend this film! I interpret it as a metaphor of pasts. It's so interesting it will knock your shoes right off! The mother goes through a dark time and her anxiety, non-closure, fear, and depression all feed into her past, (which will be later called, The Babadook) and makes it grow more and more as her child sees it as a monster when she sees it as an animal to feed. I will try not to give too much away because, well, I want you to watch it! Check out the trailer for it, you will get a glimpse and a somewhat understanding of the movie.

4. The Witch

What a freaking movie to watch if you are in the mood to be freaked out of your MIND! This film shows more of the classic witches during the Salem witch trial era. Let me just tell you, it's F-R-E-A-K-Y! It's definitely a film I could watch over and over again. It's about a family abandoned by its own people from their village because of how the father preached his sermons, (or so what I gathered). I thought it had something to do with the baby but I will let you figure it all out on your own. The Witch of the woods is absolutely terrifying and the end will make you drop your jaw and be like, "What the heck did I just watch!?" You have to CHECK IT OUT! (I didn't want to give much away but I HIGHLY recommend this film as well as The Babadook!)

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
