Don't Let Distance Ruin Your Friendships
Haley Houchin

When college comes around and it is time for everyone to go their separate ways, do not forget how important it is to stay in touch and visit each other. If they are a good friend, this won't be a problem, even if you only get to visit each other once or twice a year. Visit them at their new college home and vice versa; it is important to maintain those friendships that are important to you.

Being a thousand miles away from your best friend can be really tough. So, visit each other. Take the opportunity to experience a new town and a new school with your best friend. That is now their home and I am sure they would love to share it with you. See and explore what they now call their home, even if it happens to be your rival school.

Go to a football game with them, or even sit in their lecture hall. College changes you. You grow up and you learn a little more about yourself and being independent everyday. So instead of growing apart, grow together and stay in touch with your friends at different schools.

If anything, visiting your best friend at their college can be a break from your own life. Every school does things a little differently, and sometimes, change is good. It's nice to put yourself out of your comfort zone occasionally and branch out. Hey, you may even meet the love of your life, you never know.

Don't let distance keep you from maintaining your friendships. Take a little time out of your semester to get away and go visit your friends at different colleges. It is worth the experience and you will make the best memories. Sometimes you need to get away and out of your element. Whether you're stressed at school, going through a break up or just missing your best friend, take that road trip across a few states to your best friend's college and put yourself out there.

Your friends are making new friends at college and more than likely you're going to fit right in with their new crowd. Distance can be a b**** and a half, so don't let it ruin your friendships.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
