Vote.
I seriously cannot stress this enough. Stop complaining, stop expecting change when you don't try, and stop sitting around doing nothing but making Facebook posts and expecting everyone else to make the change YOU want. Do something about it. Get up, register to vote, and VOTE. If you're registered, go to the voting booths, do it from home, I don't really care. Take Nike's famous words and "Just Do It."
Vote.
Why?
Well because. It is a privilege you have. People's lives were ended so that you could have this opportunity each year to voice your opinion on who you want leading your government, for good, for bad, for better, for worse. You are spitting on the graves of many noble, honorable people who fought for you. In today's day and age our society has gotten into the mindset of entitlement and how everything should be how I want it and me, me, me, me, me. Well guess what? Get that out of your head because you're not entitled to much of anything, nothing is free, and someone's life was the price of this "right" you have to vote. Don't take advantage of it. Not to mention, many countries don't have the ability to speak their opinions, let alone vote. So stop making excuses as to why you don't want to vote or "can't" vote.
Vote.
This is an election where many people are not happy. But the more unhappy you are with the selections, the more you need to vote. It doesn't matter what political party you are affiliated with, just vote. No, you do not have to vote for your party's representative. Take political parties out of it for a minute and just think about which candidate is better suited for the future of this country and for you as an individual. Your vote matters. I promise.
Vote.
You have NO right to be complaining when January comes around and the new president is sworn in if you did not vote. I don't want to hear about how much you hate how things played out and neither does anyone else. If you want change, do something. Stop telling people what you want changed if you aren't expecting to do something about it. And no, posting on Facebook is not "doing something about it". The easiest way to make an attempt towards change is to vote. There is no reason why you can't. And there is CERTAINLY no reason as to why you shouldn't.
Vote. Do it for me. Do it for the younger generations who are faced against an age barrier. Do it for your own good and the good of the country. Do it so that you can feel as though you made a difference. Do it because there is a better candidate, there always is. So vote for that person. But please vote. I am begging you.
Sincerely,
The Girl Who Wishes She Could Vote
