Sweet baby sister, you never deserved this

So many boys who don't know your worth

Selfish boys who only wanted your heart so they could put a knife in and twist

So many boys who only know how to hurt

I'm so sorry that I can't keep you safe

Love is not to be played with

But so many have turned it into a game

And have left your heart battered and ripped

I wish I could take your place

I'd take every bullet and fight every battle for you if I could

But just know that no matter who leaves, your big sister is here to stay

And I will love you unconditionally, the way someone should

Keep your chin up and remember how priceless you are

Wait for the man who will treat you right

And ignore the boys who only come to leave scars

I promise that you'll find a man who brings love and light

Instead of a boy who seeks to bring you pain in the night

Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
