In only a few months I will be starting my freshman year of college. College is something I have thought about since I was little, t always seemed like such an exciting thing but at the same time very scary. These are five things that I want to get out of my four years of college.

Put Myself Out There And Try New Things

I've always heard that college is a time where you get to learn a lot about yourself and what kind of person you are. When I start college, I want to do new things that will put me out of my comfort zone. I want to join as many groups and organizations as I can so I can be exposed to new people and learn things I couldn't think of otherwise.

Meet New People And Make Friendships That Will Last a Life Time

Throughout High School, I always had the same friends and never pushed myself to meet new people and to be social. I was often perceived as a very shy person, and in college, I want to change that. I want to be outgoing and push myself to meet as many new people as I can. I want to expose myself to new cultures and diversity.

Have No Regrets

When I start my freshman year, I want to make sure I participate in everything. I don't want to get out of college and regret not taking that class that seemed interesting, or joining a group that may seem intimidating at first. It's better to try something new and hate it afterward because if you at least try, you still get something out of it.

Finiding Something I really Enjoy

I want to find something to be passionate about, whether it's from a group, volunteering, or an activity. I think it's essential to be a part of something that encourages and motivates you to be a better person.

Grow As A Person

College is all about growing as a person and discovering what you want to do in your life. There are a lot of ways I can grow as a person. I want to challenge myself to be more responsible and independent. I want to be able to take care of myself without the help of my parents and learn how to solve problems on my own.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
